Synopsis:
Herbie is a little hedgehog who is perfectly happy at home with his mother. But one day Mommy tells Herbie that it's time to go exploring all by himself! Herbie is not so sure, but ready or not, a westerly wind sweeps Herbie into the wide world... and Herbie's big adventure begins! Little Herbie finds that he's braver than he thinks and even makes a friend before coming safely back home to Mommy.

My Thouhts:
Herbie is perfectly content at home with his mother but when she insists that he go out into the world to forage and explore, he is thrust into the unknown and soon learns to love his big adventure!

I love, love, love these illustrations! Herbie is absolutely adorable. Every tree, leaf, and snowflake adds to the story. I especially liked how the leaves framed the top of a few pages and how they really showed how little Herbie is.
Herbie's Big Adventure is the perfect read for any child needing that extra push to be a little more independent and get out there and explore.
